FABRIX is currently holding a “call for facilitators" and has officially extended the deadline from 4 February 2025 to 19 February 2019 to give applicants more time to develop their answers.
For a sense of what we mean by the term facilitator, we invite you to download the “guide for applicants". Some examples of facilitators are: incubators, accelerators, fashion councils, industry groups, entrepreneurship centres, trade associations, associations of designers, consultants, union groups, area managers, public authorities, cooperatives, innovation labs. There will be a separate call for SMEs at a later date, so if you are an interested SME, your moment to shine will come!
Part of the reason we extended the deadline was to address the many questions people had. An info session was held February 7th, and below are answers to questions raised. If you still have questions, feel free to email the partner in charge of the call, Marco Cusenza (Cedecs-TCBL) marco@cedecs-tcbl.eu
What do you mean by Facilitator in this Call?
Facilitators must be organisations legally established in the Netherlands and/or Greece with a high capacity to involve local stakeholders (for example through local workshops) and to manage the set-up of local circular production systems in one of the two pilot cities Rotterdam and Athens.
What kind of initiatives are you looking for?
The facilitators will need to be able to organise activities in order to involve/reach the largest possible number of stakeholders in their local area (Rotterdam or Athens) and thus lay the foundations for a circular production system in the area.
For local stakeholders we mean SMEs, artisans, manufacture companies, textile companies, etc.
Who is my main contact/ referent?
Your contact/referent will be the Fabrix partner located in the city where you will carry out the activities.
How will I know if I am eligible to apply as Facilitator?
You can find the eligibility criteria at pag.5 of the Guide for Applicants (LINK). In this section you can also find some examples of organisations that we are looking for.
How much funding is available for the Facilitator?
Each selected Facilitator will receive a total of €25.000.
What are the conditions for being selected under this Call?
Each applicant must demonstrate that: 1) they have sufficient network and facilities to engage and interact with local stakeholders; 2) they have sufficient knowledge and experience to coordinate their own activities; 3) they have a pro-active attitude towards testing the platform.
Can you repeat the benefits of being a Facilitator?
As Facilitators your main benefits will be: 1) financial support of 25.000€ for your activities as Facilitator; 2) contact with and support of local experts from the FABRIX project for your activities; 3) opportunity to contribute to the development of the platform to best serve your needs and to become one of its first users; 4) opportunity to further your goals, projects, collaboration and facilitation skills; 5) access to resources with useful learning materials and platform guides.
If selected by this Call, what kind of expenses are eligible for funding?
All costs incurred in organising activities to involve local stakeholders are accepted.
If selected, what formalities do I have to complete in order for the expenses to be reimbursed?
The schedule of payments will be divided into three instalments. The first requires the signature of the agreement between you and the Fabrix Lead Partner. The second instalment is linked to the submission of a mid-term report. In this report, each facilitator has to describe/document the activities carried out and the corresponding proof of payment. The last instalment is linked to the submission of a final report and the attendance at the final conference of Fabrix.
How am I going to report on the contents? Should I do everything in English? Is there going to be a template?
Yes, each Facilitator must issue a mid-term report and a final report. Every report must be written in English. A template is not foreseen at the moment.
Can I apply more than one proposal to this Call?
No, an organisation can only submit one proposal.
Do I need to fund part of my activities as Facilitator?
No, this is not obligatory. The funding (€25.000) is enough to perform the activities and reach the purposes requested within this call.
What if I need extra budget for conducting activities?
We believe that the funding provided is enough to carry out the activities and reach the goals; ensure that the activities you propose fit the budget.
Can I support my activities with other funds that I have currently?
Yes, you are welcome to spend more from other funds; the important thing is that a facilitator spends up to or exactly €25,000 and shows the costs incurred in carrying out the activities.
How will the evaluation team be formed?
Three representatives of the consortium partners will evaluate each application. Partners will be two randomly selected partners, and one partner from either Rotterdam or Athens as applicable.
Is it possible that the applicant, based in the Netherlands and/or Greece, carries out its activities in the country where it is NOT based?
Yes, for example, an organisation legally established in the Netherlands can carry out activities in Athens, of course it has to demonstrate in the application form that it has the experience and facilities in the specific local area.
